Each card summarizes how that Storyteller tunes your save: economy at move-in, how fast in-game time runs, pregnancy length, twin and triplet odds, nightly Story Card offers, and any banned card packs.

What each card shows

Storytellers act like difficulty and tone presets. The fields below are the main differences players compare before starting a new household or customizing a storyteller in the pause menu.

Paralives Storytellers guide

Storytellers steer the tone of a save in Early Access. You pick one when starting a new game (or customize later) to set baseline challenge — from balanced everyday drama to tougher household pressure or a gentler, cozier pace with extra starting money.

Game data source

Names, descriptions, and numeric fields on this page are based on in-game Storyteller data and may change in Early Access patches.

Three built-in Storytellers

Paralives ships with three Storytellers in Early Access. Maxence is the default balanced pick; Ricardo Castello III pushes harder day-to-day friction; Stella softens lows and starts households with more simoleons.

  • Maxence — balanced default

Fair, all-round pacing with higher twin and triplet chances than the other presets. Maxence and Stella both exclude the BloodMoon Story Card pack from nightly offers.

  • Ricardo Castello III — challenge

Lower multi-birth odds and no automatic eating or toilet breaks at work, so careers feel less forgiving. Ricardo does not ban BloodMoon packs.

  • Stella — cozy

Extra starting funds (35,000 vs 30,000), lower twin/triplet rates, and a protective tone in the official description. Stella uses the same Story Card hand as the others but also bans BloodMoon packs.

Story Cards & nightly events

After the household sleeps, the active Storyteller can offer Story Cards — goals, buffs, mood shifts, or relationship hooks for the next day. All three built-in Storytellers share the same default hand in current data, with pack bans differing per preset.

  • Starting economy & time

Opening funds and minutes-per-real-second are the fastest way to feel whether a save will start rich or rushed. On this wiki, compare those values on each card before you commit in the train intro.

  • Pregnancy & family planning

Pregnancy duration, labor timing, and twin/triplet percentages vary by Storyteller. Family-heavy playthroughs should weigh these fields alongside traits and lifestyles from the PAM creator.
